• What is homeopathy?

  Homeopathy is necessarily a natural healing process, providing remedies to help the patient regain their health by stimulating the body's inherent strengths or recovery. It focuses on treating the patient rather than the disease and based on the principle of "like cures like." Homeopathy treats the "whole person", means that two people having the same illness may receive a different medicine based on their symptoms and emotional response to the illness or disease.

• What type of medicine will be given?

  Homeopathy medicines are made utilizing predominately plant, animal & mineral substances in dilution to stimulate the body's natural healing response. Homeopathic medicines are prepared according to strict guidelines and are very dilute as well as considered gentle in their action when prescribed by a certified homeopath.

• What conditions can Homeopathy treat?

  A wide range of both acute and chronic illnesses may benefit from homeopathic medicine. Homeopathic medicines are also prescribed for severe illnesses including sports injuries, coughs, colds, diarrhoea, hay fever, travel sickness. Homeopathy can be helpful in the case of more profound and more chronic diseases, including autoimmune diseases and persistent chronic conditions for which conventional medicine often has nothing more to offer. Extensive clinical experience, observations and research continue to support the effectiveness of homeopathy in a wide range of diseases from men, women, children, infants and the elderly.

• What does a visit to a homeopath involve?

  A thorough investigation is essential when taking a homeopathic case. In addition to asking questions about your symptoms, a homeopath will be interested in you as an individual and in the unique way your symptoms affect you. The first consultation with a homeopath may take an hour or more. However, simple acute illness may only take 15 to 30 minutes. Information regarding current symptoms and medical history will be required. Questions can also be asked about diet, sleep, lifestyle and some mental and emotional aspects. Physical exams may be necessary, depending on the illness. The treatment involves the prescription of the most appropriate drug, combining all the symptoms and individual characteristics of the patient with the drug. Two people with the same condition may have very different prescriptions because of their own set of symptoms. Your homeopath may also recommend lifestyle and diet changes in general as part of a treatment plan.

• What Scientific Research says about Homeopathy?

  According to the homeopathic faculty of the United Kingdom, between 1950 and 2014, more than 104 randomized controlled trials (RCTs) were published in peer-reviewed journals that describe statistically significant results. Of these RCTs comparing homeopathy to placebo or conventional medicine, 43 reported positive outcomes for homeopathy. The largest homeopathic study ever conducted by the National Health Service (UK) in Bristol, lasted 6 years of research on more than 6,500 patients: - chronic diseases such as eczema, migraine, arthritis, Chronic fatigue and irritable bowel syndrome have been treated.
